Muzaffar-E Islam retired as Assistant Director (Oriental Records) from the National Archives of India in 2020. He has also edited the volume VIII of this series. the Present volume is a literal translation of about 1,000 documents, mainly in Persian from the 'Mutiny Papers', housed in the National Archives of India, Regional Office, Bhopal. He has also compiled volume VI of the series of 'Descriptive List of Acquired Documents', containing the letters, parwanas etc., executed during the early 19th century. He has also edited volume IV of 'Descriptive List of Persian Correspondence', held between the East India Company and the Indian Princes during the year 1804.
