Dr. P. Jayaraman
PANCHAPAKESA JAYARAMAN
(Dr. P. Jayaraman), (June 20, 1932) a teacher, scholar, poet & administrator, is very much dedicated to enrichment and promotion of Indian culture, values, philosophy, languages and literature.
At the request of Bharatiya Vidya Bhavan, Mumbai, India, he came to the USA in November 1980 to establish a Bhavan's branch in New York.

Abdul Kalam, President of India honored him with award for his outstanding services for the promotion of Hindi language and literature abroad for the year 2003. ◆ Pravasi Bharatiya Samman Award 2006. ✦ On 31st March 2009, the President of India H. E. Smt. Pratibha Patil honored him with the award of 'Padma Sri'.
Retired from the Bharatiya Vidya Bhavan, USA in December 2007 after 28 years of service. He continues to teach Hindi in the Bhavan, USA.
