Ishita Sehgal 

Ishita did her Bachelor of Arts in English from Ashoka University, India and her MPhil in Gender Studies from Trinity College, Dublin. She is interested in Mythology and has researched on the Mahabharata and Ramayana from a feminist context for her research. Her papers explore the evolution of women in society as viewed by cinema and other visual mediums. She has assisted in the making of a documentary at IIT Kanpur and taught as a teaching fellow at Ashoka University. Currently, she is pursuing her Ph.D. in English from Indiana University, Bloomington. Her research interests lie in Graphic Novels, Visual Literature and Ekphrasis. She is particularly inquisitive about the gutters, blank spaces and how we form our identity and memory from these spaces. Her questions of displacement and belonging are deeply influenced by colors and narratives of the graphic literature. In her fun time, she likes to read, travel, write and is a trained professional Bharatanatyam Dancer.
